Perhaps the most over-looked section of Toms River, because "West Dover" lies on the west (other) side of the Garden State Parkway. This oversight makes living in the West Dover section even more attractive to those looking for all of the amenities of Toms River, without all of the traffic and congestion.
Obviously, you won't find any waterfront estates over here but you will find shade. The West Dover section of Toms River is tree country; where the beach ends and the "Pine Barrens" begin! If you like mature shade trees (Oaks & Pines), West Dover is the area for you.
Other things you will find on this side of town; Community Memorial Hospital, Winding River Park and a "head start" to Philly, New York and Atlantic City. And seriously, it only takes an extra minute or two to head east to Seaside and the Ocean beaches!
Housing, on this side of town, consists of the "move up" buyers' other option, the "Split-Level"; as well as the standard offerings (colonial, ranch and bi-level). So, West Dover offers a pleasant alternative to "First Time" homebuyers and "Move Up" buyers alike.
